Description

Indianapolis is a planned city, platted in 1821 by Alexander Ralston, on a one square-mile rectangular grid with diagonal avenues stretching to the corners of the Mile Square from Monument Circle. Since then, downtown Indianapolis has exploded, creating hulking facades of concrete and glass that shine brightly in the morning sunrise from the East. This view of the city looks southwest, and includes the Salesforce (formerly Chase) Tower, the City County Building, the Olde National Centre, the Mass Ave Arts District (if you look closely you can see an outline the mural of Kurt Vonnegut), and Riley Towers.
