I have been a creative professional in one form or another since graduating from DePauw University with a BA in Fine Art in 1992. I am a professional painter, middle school art teacher, freelance graphic designer and former publishing graphics editor. For five years I also ran my own business, an art studio in my hometown of Zionsville, Indiana, called “A Space to Create.”
My paintings embody my love of color, abstraction of reality and fondness for the open fields (and wind turbines) of central Indiana. When we moved from Evanston, Illinois to Zionsville, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders as the fields began to surround me and the sky stretched out above me unfettered by buildings and street lights… this is the feeling I hope to evoke in my paintings (and, perhaps, a love of animals!).
